Women of EnvirOx

March is Women's History Month. As a woman-owned business, we're proud to shine a spotlight on some of the women who make a difference here. We've asked them all the same questions—about their time at EnvirOx, and the women who inspire them.

How long have you worked at EnvirOx?
Since July of 2011, so soon to be 12 years!

What woman or women influenced you growing up?
ALL three of the women that helped raise me: My mother, my best-friend Christy’s mother, & my step-mom during my teenage years. Unfortunately, two of those three women passed away many years ago, but not before being excellent role models. Another huge influence in my life was my 5th grade teacher, Ms. Georgella Blanden.

Does working at a woman-owned business feel different than other places you’ve worked? Or does it mean anything to you personally?
Working at EnvirOx in general is very different than any place else I have worked. I think that has more to do with our culture & employee’s than being woman-owned.

What’s one thing you’d tell younger women today that you’ve learned from experience?
Don’t be so hard on yourself. Always get back up when you fall down. You are way more resilient than you think, & every life experience makes you into the person you are meant to be.

If you could have dinner with four women—living or dead—who would they be and why?
I can think of three women that I miss the most that are no longer with us, yet provided me with the most guidance when they were with us. My step-mother Marla, Christy’s mom Liz, & my Grandma Katie. I miss all of them dearly, and think of them often. I’d give anything to have more conversations and gather their advice.
